(A) It is unlawful for any person to fire or discharge within the limits of the city any cannon, gun, pistol or other firearm, firecracker, rocket or other fireworks, air gun, air rifle or other similar device commonly referred to as a BB gun.
(B) (1) A BB gun may be discharged upon private property with permission of the property owner. BB guns may not be used in a reckless manner. Minors must be supervised by a parent.
(2) For the purpose of this section, the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning: RECKLESS USAGE. To intentionally or unintentionally handle a BB gun in a careless manner as such to cause or possibly cause injury to a person or persons or damage to property.
(C) Nothing in this section shall apply to a display of fireworks by an organization or group of organizations authorized in writing by the Council or to a peace officer in the discharge of his or her duties or to a starter's pistol used in conjunction with a sporting event.
