§ 52.25  MATERIAL.
   (A)   Pipe and fittings are to be polyvinyl chloride, PVC, meeting ASTM specification D3034 SDR 35. Pipe conforming to ASTM D3034 shall be utilized when a 50-foot separation between the house lateral and a private well cannot be maintained. Joints for pipe and fittings shall be the integral bell-type gasketed joint designed so that when assembled, the elastomeric gasket inside the bell is compressed radically on the pipe spigot to form a positive seal. The joints shall comply with the requirements of ASTM D3212.
   (B)   For restaurant connections, the same specifications are required with the addition that a grease trap shall be installed on the restaurant line prior to connection to the service lateral. Size reductions and bends shall be made through the use of proper fittings. No 90-degree fittings. One clean out is required per installation at the high stream end of run for access if line becomes plugged. Existing Schedule 40 plastic pipe is acceptable upon inspection by the Town Inspector.
