§ 32.50  LAW ENFORCEMENT EDUCATION FUND.
   (A)   The town’s Police Department shall collect a $10 application fee when it accepts an application for a handgun license from any individual, firm, or corporation.

   (B)   The fee shall be deposited into the town’s Law Enforcement Education Fund.

   (C)   The fee collected shall be used by the agency exclusively for the purposes of training town police officers in the proper use of firearms or other law enforcement duties.

   (D)   When the town’s Police Department collects the fee described in division (A) above, it shall issue a receipt to the individual, firm, or corporation applying for a handgun license.

   (E)   The town’s Police Department shall remit the fees collected and a receipt for each fee each week to the Clerk-Treasurer.

   (F)   Upon the receipt of collected fees from the town’s Police Department, the Clerk-Treasurer shall issue an official receipt for remittance specifying the number of receipts accounted for.

   (G)   The Clerk-Treasurer shall receipt the fees to a fund in the town ledger of receipts and disbursements entitled “Law Enforcement Education Fund” and deposit the fees in the town’s corporation bank account.

   (H)   When the application for a handgun license is denied, a refund shall be made from the Law Enforcement Education Fund without appropriation upon the basis of a claim filed.

   (I)   Expenditures from the Law Enforcement Education Fund shall be authorized by the Town Marshal, limited to the uses described in division (C) above and paid without appropriation upon the basis of a claim filed.
