§ 70.21  WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS.
   (A)   General restriction. It shall be unlawful to operate any vehicle on any street in the town, except Main Street and Washington Street, when the gross weight on the surface of the road through any axle of such vehicle exceeds 12,000 pounds, and on any street where the weight of vehicles permitted on such street is limited by ordinance and signs indicating such limitations are posted, it shall be unlawful to operate a vehicle in excess of such weight on such street, except for the purpose of making delivery or picking up a load, in which case such vehicle may be driven on such street for not more than the minimum distance necessary for the purpose.

   (B)   Truck regulations.
      (1)   Weight limits on and over town streets. All trucks or truck-trailer combinations with three or more axles that exceed a total weight eight tons shall not be permitted to travel over or be parked upon any town street or shoulder connected to said street.
      (2)   Exceptions. The following will be allowed:
         (a)   Trucks making deliveries within the town limits;
         (b)   Equipment used in construction projects within the town limits;
         (c)   Trucks entering fuel stations within town limits;
         (d)   Truck weights in excess of eight tons with documented permission of the Town Council, except for trucks entering fuel stations; and
         (e)   State highways and county roads within town limits shall not be governed by this section.
