(a) The operator of a "commercial car" as defined in Ohio R.C. 4501.01, when such car is required to be registered under Ohio R.C. 4501.01 et seq., 4503.02 et seq., 4503.12 et seq., 4503.20 and 4505.01 et seq., shall, when operating such commercial car, trailer or semitrailer on the streets, roads or highways of this City, display inside or on such vehicle the certificate of registration for such commercial car, trailer or semitrailer provided for in Ohio R.C. 4503.19, or shall carry such certificate upon his person and display such certificate upon the demand of any peace officer.
Every person operating a commercial car, trailer or semitrailer required to be registered under Ohio R.C. 4501.01 et seq., 4503.02 et seq., 4503.12 et seq., 4503.20 and 4505.01 et seq., shall permit the inspection of the certificate of registration upon demand of any peace officer.

(b) Whoever violates any provision of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
