Water meters shall be installed by a licensed plumber in all new construction using municipal water service or as otherwise authorized by the City Council. Water meter replacement and repair may be performed by city maintenance. Water meter installation is required to be a standard five-eighths-inch pipe size water meter or such other pipe size approved by the City Council, in writing. It is the responsibility of the property owner to deliver to the City Finance Officer the first meter reading immediately after installation of the water meter. Failure to do so may result in the City Finance Officer assessing costs based on estimated usage and other fees.
