10-1-3: RANK OF OFFICERS:

The chief of police shall be the head of the department and shall have supervision over all officers and members thereof. Following him or her in rank shall be: the deputy chief; the lieutenants in order of their seniority; the sergeants in order of their seniority; and the patrol officers in order of their seniority.
