A. The chief of police, part time auxiliary officers and crossing guards shall be appointed by the village president with the advice and consent of the board of trustees. The part time auxiliary officers and crossing guards need not, at the time of their appointment, be members of the police department. (Ord. 06-58, 9-19-2006)
B. The powers of appointment, promotion, discharge or suspension of all other officers and members of the police department shall be vested in the board of fire and police commissioners of the village, pursuant to 5/10-2.1 of the Illinois municipal code 1 , as amended, together with all amendments which hereafter may be made thereto, and otherwise as by statute in such case made and provided.
