There is hereby created a police department for the village of Worth which shall consist of:
A. A chief of police, appointed by the village president with the advice and consent of the board of trustees pursuant to 65 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/10-2.1-4; (Ord. 06-09, 2-21-2006)
B. At least twenty five (25) police officers, appointed by the board of fire and police commissioners 1 pursuant to 65 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/10-2.1-14; (Ord. 2016-25, 8-16-2016)
C. Twelve (12) crossing guards and an undetermined number of part time auxiliary police officers, appointed by the village president with the advice and consent of the board of trustees pursuant to 65 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/3.1-30-5 and 5/3.1-30-21; and (Ord. 06-09, 2-21-2006; amd. D. The deputy chief of police is appointed by the chief of police with concurrence of the village president and board of trustees pursuant to 65 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/10-2.1-4. (Ord. 11-37, 12-20-2011)
