6-5-6: INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS:
   A.   Authority: All improvements shall be subject to inspection by duly authorized and qualified village inspectors both during the course of construction and after construction is complete. The inspector shall have authority over materials of construction, methods of construction and workmanship to ensure compliance with working drawings and specifications. The contractor shall provide for reasonable tests and proof of quality of materials as requested by the inspector. Upon due cause, the inspector may require that work be suspended and due cause shall include weather conditions, questionable materials of construction, methods of construction, workmanship or nonadherence to specifications and drawings. (1970 Code §35.70)
   B.   Inspection Reports: The inspector shall prepare and submit to the village engineer each day a report stating progress of work and giving his findings as to quality and quantity of materials used and quality and methods and workmanship. He shall, in particular, call attention to any circumstances that entail departures from working drawings and specifications such as unforeseen difficulties of drainage, ground water, poor subsoil, unstable fill material, unconventional or faulty practices of contractors or other circumstances. Whenever, in his opinion, such departures are likely to cause either a lower ultimate standard of performance or a higher construction cost than could reasonably be anticipated, he shall immediately notify the village engineer. When an improvement has been completed, he shall prepare a summary report. (1970 Code §35.71)
   C.   Responsibility Of Subdivider: Approval by the inspector or absence of inspection shall in no way relieve the subdivider of full responsibility for adherence by his contractors to specifications and working drawings nor for high standards of materials, methods and workmanship. (1970 Code §35.72)
   D.   Approval Not Acceptance: Approval by the inspector shall not be deemed acceptance of the improvement by the village. Acceptance shall be only by action of the board of trustees and acceptance shall be contingent upon a favorable inspection report signed by the village engineer. (1970 Code §35.73)
