131.09 UNIFORMS.

The City shall purchase, clean and maintain all official uniforms used while on duty by the regular firemen of the City. "Uniform" means trousers, or breeches and puttees, shirts, coats, caps and overcoats. No money shall be expended for such uniforms, or cleaning or maintaining, without a certificate evidencing necessity in each case, signed by the Chief of the Fire Division in the event an expenditure for firemen's uniforms is requested. (1950 Code, p. 51.)
