111.34 POWER OF COUNCIL OR COMMITTEE TO ISSUE SUBPOENAS.

For the purpose of investigating any charge against any member of Council, or other officer of the City, or any other matter which Council may deem proper to investigate, or which has been referred to Council by law, Council or any committee of Council shall have power to issue subpoenas to compel the attendance of persons and the production of books and papers before Council or any committee of Council. The subpoena shall state the time when and the place where such persons shall attend or produce the books and papers. Whoever fails to comply with any subpoena issued pursuant to this section shall be fined as provided in Section 101.99.
