111.20 PREVIOUS QUESTION.
When the previous question is moved and seconded by two members, it shall be put in these words: "Shall the main question now be put?" It must be sustained by a majority vote and until decided shall preclude further debate, and all amendments and motions, except one motion to adjourn and one motion to lay on the table, but it shall not preclude pending amendments from being put in their order before the main question. If a motion for the previous question is not sustained, the subject under consideration shall be proceeded with the same as if the motion had not been made. (1950 Code, p. 72.)
