111.17 ORDER OF MOTIONS WHEN QUESTION BEFORE COUNCIL. 
   When a question or proposition is before Council or under debate, no motion shall be in order except the following; the motions shall have precedence in the order named:
   (a)    To adjourn.
   (b)    To take a recess.
   (c)    To proceed to the orders of the day.
   (d)    To lay on the table.
   (e)    For the previous question.
   (f)    To postpone to a day certain.
   (g)    To commit.
   (h)    To amend.
   (i)    To postpone indefinitely. (1950 Code, p. 71.)
