947.02 GRANT OF FRANCHISE AUTHORITY.

   (a)   A franchise authority may be granted to a Grantee to construct, operate and maintain a cable television system within the streets of the City for a period of not less than fifteen years subject to the conditions and restrictions of a franchise agreement as hereinafter provided as long as the conditions and restrictions are not inconsistent with the Act.

   (b)   At the expiration of a franchise, the City shall have the right to renew or reject any application for franchise extension as called for in the Act. In the event a franchise is extended, it shall be extended for a period of not less than ten years and not more than twenty-five years. (Ord. 1985-18. Passed 6-3-85.)
