The Mayor shall, with the advice and consent of Council appoint a Marshal for the Village and as many deputy marshals and all special policemen as the circumstances shall require. Such Marshal or deputy marshals before entering upon their duties as such, shall execute a bond to the Village conditioned upon the faithful performance of their duties in the amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000).
