§ 33.052 POWER AND DUTIES.
   The Board of Zoning Appeals shall:
   (A)   Hear and decide appeals from any determination made by an administrative official charged with the enforcement of any zoning ordinance. The concurring vote of four members of the Board is necessary to reverse any determination of such administrative official or to decide in favor of the applicant on any matter upon which it is required to pass under any zoning or plan ordinance, or to effect any variation in the ordinance or to recommend any variation or modification in the ordinance to the corporate authorities pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/11-13-3. Appeals to the Board of Zoning Appeals shall be handled pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/11-13-12; and
   (B)   Have the power to hear proposals for amendment to the existing zoning and plan ordinance pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/11-13-5. Such amendment to the ordinance shall be made pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/11-14-3 after amendment or change in any setback line ordinance.
