§ 33.003 PROSECUTING ATTORNEY; DUTIES.
   (A)   The Prosecuting Attorney shall be appointed by the City Manager. He or she shall be appointed on an indefinite basis and shall continue in office until a successor has been appointed and qualified. He or she shall be an attorney licensed to practice law in the state.
   (B)   It shall be the duty of the Prosecuting Attorney to prosecute all actions for violations of the provisions of the municipal ordinance brought by the Police Department of the city. He or she shall represent the city at all circuit court appearances involving the violation of municipal ordinances. He or she shall, in cooperation with the Chief of Police, assist in training by conducting informational programs involving legal problems encountered by the Police Department, including but not limited to, search and seizure, violation of an individual’s civil rights, evidence, interviews, interrogations, and reports.
