§ 97.02 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   ALARM SYSTEMS. Any device and/or equipment that may detect the presence of and signal either a possible fire or intrusion and relay that situation off premises.
   CHIEFS. Either or both the Fire or Police Chief, or his or her designated representative.
   DISPATCHER. The telecommunicator or operator who receives the signal from an alarm and is directed to contact either of the emergency services.
   EMERGENCY SERVICES. Employees of either Fire or Police Departments for the City of Wood River and/or their mutual aid departments.
   FALSE ALARM. An electronic signal from an alarm system, a prerecorded message, or a telephone call from a contracted alarm service that requires an emergency services response where no emergency situation is present. These shall include: system malfunction; non-fire alarm activation; mischievous alarm activation; or employee error.
   NON-FALSE ALARM. Those calls where emergency services shall be required or needed, through use of standard operating guidelines or department policy, to take appropriate action. These shall include: fire; smoke in building; smoke removal; investigation service call; and investigations related to crime involving persons and property.
