The Fire Chief, acting as designated representative of the Illinois State Fire Marshal, or the Fire Chief’s representative shall have jurisdiction to inspect dwelling units for the installation of any smoke detector required to be installed under this subchapter, during normal working hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or during the normal investigation of a fire.
