§ 91.50 REDEMPTION.
   A cat or other animal captured and impounded under the provisions of this subchapter and determined not to be affected with rabies may be redeemed into the custody of the owner, or person having the right of possession of such animal as follows.
   (A)   (1)   The person redeeming the animal must show proof that the animal is currently inoculated and obtain a release from the city by payment of the $15 release fee. The city issued release form must be displayed to the proper authority at the Madison County Animal Shelter at the time the animal is redeemed.
      (2)   If, in the discretion of the Chief of Police, an additional fee is necessary because of the costs incurred by the city, an additional release fee may be charged to the owner.
   (B)   An animal being held in the city’s temporary animal shelter may be released upon display of the city issued release form to the appropriate authority within the Police Department.
