§ 31.035 APPOINTMENT; BOND; REMOVAL.
   The City Manager shall be appointed by the City Council for an indefinite term as provided by law and shall be chosen on the basis of his or her executive and administrative qualifications. Before taking office, the City Manager shall furnish a fidelity bond in the amount of $3,000, conditioned upon the faithful performance of his or her duties with a corporation licensed to do business in the state as surety. Such bond shall be filed with the City Clerk after being approved by the City Council. The Manager may at any time be removed from office by a majority vote of the members of Council.
