The chief of police in denying an application for a parade permit may authorize the conduct of the event on a date, at a time or over a route different from that designated by the applicant. An applicant desiring to accept an alternate permit shall, within ten (10) days after notice of the action of the chief of police, but not less than three (3) days prior to the event, file a written notice of acceptance with the chief. An alternate parade permit shall conform to the requirements of and shall have the effect of a parade permit under this chapter. (1976 Code §19-305)
