Upon such application being made, the chief of police shall investigate or cause to be investigated the person or organization making application of the truth of the statements made in the application regarding the purpose or object of the event for which application for a parade permit is made. The chief of police shall act upon the application within five (5) days after the receipt of said application. (1976 Code §19-303)
