5-1-7: AID TO FIRE DISTRICTS:

It shall be the duty of the police department to aid the appropriate fire district by giving alarms in case of fire and clearing the streets or grounds in the immediate vicinity of the fire so that the members of the fire district shall not be hindered or obstructed in the performance of their duties. (1976 Code §11-9)
