There is hereby established a police department in and for the village. The police department as herein established shall encompass the following municipal operations of and for the village:
A. Administrative services.
B. Police records.
C. Emergency communications.
D. Patrol services.
E. Crime detection and investigation.
F. Crime prevention services.
G. Code enforcement.
H. Emergency and disaster services.
Nothing herein stated shall preclude the police department from carrying out any other function or functions of and for the village as may be established by ordinance or assigned to the department by order of the village administrator and/or the mayor and board of trustees.
The police department shall be composed of such operating divisions as may be established from time to time by the chief of police with the approval of the village administrator and/or mayor and board of trustees. (1976 Code §11-1)
