10-5-1: MONUMENTS:
   A.   Permanent monuments shall be placed at all points of tangency of curb lines and at all corners of the boundary of the subdivision, and such permanent monuments shall also be placed in the same manner upon all lands within the subdivision dedicated for public or quasi-public ways.
   B.   All lot corners not marked by concrete monuments shall be marked by galvanized or wrought iron pipe or iron or steel bars at least eighteen inches (18") in length and not less than one-half inch (1/2") in diameter. The top of the pipe or bar is to be set level with the established grade of the ground.
   C.   In addition, a minimum of one permanent bench mark shall be established for twenty (20) acres, or fraction thereof, subdivided and at a location designated by the village engineer. This monument shall be of concrete with a minimum dimension of four inches by four inches (4" x 4") at top, six inches by six inches (6" x 6") at bottom, and forty eight inches (48") long with a brass plate securely fastened to the surface. On the brass plate shall be inscribed the number and elevation of the bench mark. (1976 Code §16-88)
