The deletions from and modifications and amendments to the 2012 International Building Code are as follows:
Chapter 1 Scope and Administration
Section 101.1 Title delete section and replace with:
101.1 Title. These regulations shall be known as the Building Code of the City of Wood Dale, hereinafter referred to as "this code".
Section 101.4.3. Plumbing delete section and replace with:
101.4.3 Plumbing. The provisions of the State of Illinois Plumbing Code as adopted and amended by the City of Wood Dale shall apply to the installation, alteration, repair and replacement of plumbing systems including equipment, appliances, fixtures, fittings and appurtenances, and where connected to a water sewage system and all aspects of a medical gas system.
Section 102.6 Existing Structures delete section in its entirety.
Section 103 Department of Building Safety delete section in its entirety.
Section 104 Duties and Powers of the Building Official
Section 104.1 through Section 104.8 delete these sections in their entirety.
Section 104.10.1 Flood hazard areas delete section in its entirety
Section 105 Permits delete section in its entirety.
Section 107.2.5.1 Design flood elevations delete section in its entirety.
Section 109 Fees delete section in its entirety.
Section 110 Inspections delete section in its entirety.
Section 111 Certificate of Occupancy delete section in its entirety.
Section 113 Board of Appeals delete section in its entirety.
Section 114 Violations delete section in its entirety.
Section 115 Stop Work Order delete section in its entirety.
Section 116 Unsafe Structures delete section in its entirety.
Chapter 2 Definitions
Section 201.4 Terms not Defined delete section and replace with:
201.4. Terms not defined. Where terms are not defined through the methods authorized by this section, such terms shall have ordinarily accepted meanings such as the context implies or the definition in the current version of the Merriam-Webster Dictionary shall be applied.
Chapter 6 Types of Construction
Section 601.2 add section:
601.2. Tenant and Dwelling Unit fire resistance rating separation. All assemblies which separate tenants in the same building shall maintain a minimum of one hour fire- resistance rated construction. When the assemblies are for residential use, a minimum of two hour rating will be required.
Chapter 7 Fire and Smoke Protection Features
Section 707.3.11 add section:
707.3.11. Tenant and Dwelling Unit fire resistance rating separation. All walls which separate tenants in the same building shall maintain a minimum of one hour fire- resistance rated construction. When the building contains residential uses, a minimum of two hour rating will be required.
Section 711.3.4 add section:
711.3.4 Tenant and Dwelling Unit fire resistance rating separation. All floors which separate tenants in the same building shall maintain a minimum of one hour fire- resistance rated construction. When the building contains residential uses, a minimum of two hour rating will be required.
Chapter 11 Accessibility
Chapter 11 delete Chapter, see the State of Illinois Accessibility Code.
Chapter 15 Roof Assemblies and Rooftop Structures
Section 1503.4.1 Secondary (emergency overflow) drains or scuppers delete the words "and Sections 1106 and 1108, as applicable, of the International Plumbing Code" and replace with:
State of Illinois Plumbing Code as adopted and amended by the City of Wood Dale.
Chapter 16 Structural Design
Section 1612.3 Establishment of flood hazard areas delete section and replace with:
1612.3 Establishment of flood hazard areas. To establish flood hazard areas, local flooding data shall apply.
Chapter 23 Wood
Section 2303.1.2 add section:
Floor/roof assemblies utilizing wood I-joists or similar products shall be required to be protected with a minimum 1 hour UL fire-resistance design or its equivalent.
Section 2303.4.1 add section:
Floor/roof assemblies utilizing wood trusses or similar products shall be required to be protected with a minimum 1 hour UL fire-resistance design or its equivalent.
Section 2303.8 add section:
Any structure, including structures existing on the date of adoption of this code, utilizing trusses with stamped plate connectors for structural framing shall have an identifying sign with minimum dimensions of eight inches (8") by eight inches (8"), permanently installed at an approved location for emergency responder notification of the use of those materials.
Chapter 29 Plumbing Systems
Chapter 29 delete Chapter in its entirety, see the State of Illinois Plumbing Code as adopted and amended by the City of Wood Dale.
Chapter 30 Elevators and Conveying Systems
Section 3001.2 Referenced Standards delete section and replace with:
3001.2 Referenced Standards. The design, construction, installation, alteration, repair and maintenance of elevators and conveying systems and their components shall conform to the State of Illinois Elevator Safety and Regulation Act and to the state mandated elevator codes as determined by the office of the state fire marshal, division of elevator safety.
Section 3001.3 Accessibility delete section and replace with:
3001.3 Accessibility. Passenger elevators shall conform to the requirements of the State of Illinois Accessibility Code.
Chapter 32 Encroachments into the Public Right-Of-Way
Chapter 32 delete Chapter in its entirety.
Chapter 33 Safeguards during Construction
Section 3305.1 Facilities required delete section and replace with:
3305.1 Facilities required. Sanitary facilities shall be provided during construction, remodeling or demolition activities in accordance with the State of Illinois Plumbing Code and Chapter 7 of the City of Wood Dale Municipal Code.
