606.02  DEFINITIONS.
   The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
   (a)   “Animal” means a nonhuman zoological species classified for purposes of this chapter as follows:
      (1)   “Household pet” means any of the various animals domesticated by humans such as to live and breed in a tame condition (such as a household dog or cat).
      (2)   “Farm animal” means an animal which is normally part of the livestock maintained on a farm, including bovine, equine, swine, ovine and like animals;
      (3)   “Exotic animal” means any wild or undomesticated animal which is not of a species customarily used as an ordinary household pet or farm animal, but one which would ordinarily be confined to a zoo, or one which would ordinarily be found in the wilderness of this or any other country. Verification from the Village Administrator is required that such an animal would not cause a reasonable person to be fearful of bodily harm or property damage, and is not considered a dangerous animal.
      (4)   “Dangerous animal” means any wild or undomesticated animal which is not of a species customarily used as an ordinary household pet or farm animal, but one winch would ordinarily be confined to a zoo, or one which would ordinarily be found in the wilderness of this or any other country. Verification from the Village Administrator is required that such an animal would cause a reasonable person to be fearful of bodily harm or property damage, and is prohibited in the Village.
   (b)   “Owner or possessor” means any person who either has right of property in any animal, or who has an animal in his or her care or custody, or who knowingly permits an animal to remain on or about any premises occupied or controlled by him or her.
