606.01  PURPOSE.
   The purposes of this chapter are declared to be as follows:
   (a)   To promote the health, safety and welfare of the Village, its residents and its visitors by regulating different classifications of animals which are housed, caged, allowed to roam or otherwise kept in the Village.
   (b)   To establish nuisance and sanitation regulations for the general peace and welfare of the community, and for the protection and safe-keeping of animals within the Village.
   (c)   To identify and enumerate certain animals which, by their nature, are sufficiently dangerous, undesirable or unsuitable for incorporation into the residential, agricultural or commercial life of this community.
   (d)   To impose prohibitory or regulatory measures regarding the possession, maintenance of animals considered dangerous and/or exotic.
   (e)   To establish guidelines and procedures to be utilized by the Village administration and Village Council in implementing this chapter.
   (f)   To provide for penalties and sanctions for violations hereof.
