440.11  VIOLATIONS; APPEARANCE TICKETS; PRIMA-FACIE EVIDENCE OF OPERATOR’S IDENTITY.
   (a)   A peace or police officer may issue appearance tickets for violations of this chapter pursuant to Sections 9a to 9e of Chapter 4 of Act 175 of the Public Acts of 1927, as added, being Sections 764.9a to 764.9e of the Compiled Laws of 1948.
   (b)   In a proceeding for a violation of this chapter involving prohibited operation or conduct, the registration number displayed on a snowmobile constitutes prima-facie evidence that the owner of the snowmobile was the person operating the snowmobile or ATV at the time of the offense.
