§ 1-6-8 OPTING OUT OF THE STATE TOWN MEETING ACT.
   (A)   Pursuant to 11 O.S. § 16-302, the town hereby declares that it shall not be governed by the State Town Meeting Act as a means of electing its officers and deciding initiative and referendum questions.
   (B)   The town shall hereby elect its officers and decide initiative and referendum questions through election conducted by the County Election Board pursuant to 11 O.S. § 16-101.
   (C)   The effective date of this section was February 3, 2003.
   (D)   The town has less than 1,000 residents as of the 2000 Federal Census.
