§ 155.09 DECORATIVE WOODEN FENCES.
Decorative wooden fences, such as split rail and the like, standing no more than four feet high (when measured at the higher of the post or body of the fence) may be set in post holes and backfilled with dirt, sand or other granular fill, provided that the depth of the required post holes is at least ½ the height of the fence. To the extent that any national building code adopted by the village, such as BOCA or CABO, ordinarily requires deeper postholes or the setting of more posts in concrete, those provisions are expressly superceded by this section.
