§ 50.106 WATER SERVICE CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS.
   (A)   Size, slope, alignment, and materials of construction of a water service, and the methods to be used in excavation, placing of the pipe, jointing, testing, and backfilling the trench shall all conform to the requirements of the Building and Plumbing Codes or other applicable rules and regulations of the village. In the absence of code provisions or in amplification thereof, the materials and procedures set forth in appropriate specifications of the Standard Specifications for Water and Sewer Main Construction in Illinois shall apply.
   (B)   No connection with any water main of said village shall be less than one inch, with all material and labor to be furnished and paid for by the applicant or owner.
   (C)   (1)   The connection from the main to the curb stop shall be placed at least five feet below the level of the ground. The service pipe shall be laid sufficiently waving so that it shall be at least one foot longer than if laid in a straight line and shall be placed in such manner as to prevent rupture or breakage from settling of the ground. All service pipes shall be of type K copper tubing and shall be not less than one-inch nominal diameter.
      (2)   Individual and separate "water services" shall be provided for each unit of a duplex family dwelling.
   (D)   Each water service pipe shall be connected with the water main, shall extend horizontally at right angles with the water main to a point seven feet from the property line, and shall there be provided with a bronze curb stop of not less than one-inch in diameter to be installed within a shut-off box of the best quality of cast iron, or curb stop.
   (E)   The water main must be tapped at an angle of 45 degrees with the vertical, and the corporation stop must be turned so that the "T" handle will be on top.
   (F)   A full circle tapped sleeve (or coupling) of all stainless-steel construction, of not less than eight- inch length shall be required for all water (other than iron) main connections or "taps."
