§ 50.027 WATER SERVICE RATES.
   (A)   All consumers, users, or properties in the village shall pay rates for the use and services of the waterworks and sewerage system in such manner and such amounts as shall be prescribed by ordinance by the President and Board of Trustees from time to time. There shall be and there are hereby established rates or charges for the use of and for the service supplied by the combined waterworks and sewerage system of the village based upon the amount of water consumed as shown by the water meters, as follows:
   (B)   Within the corporate limits. From and after December 1, 2022, the base rate for each residential single-family, commercial, or industrial user of the water service system within the corporate limits, the quarterly charge shall be as follows:
      (1)   An infrastructure maintenance fee of $1 per billing cycle shall be added to each water bill.
      (2)   For all usage: $6.33 per 1,000 gallons. This rate shall further increase by 5.5% per annum (compound) on December 1, 2023 and December 1, 2024.
      (3)   Where water supplied is not metered, a charge of $121.50 per unit per quarter shall be made, and no discount shall be allowed. This rate shall further increase by 5.5% per annum (compound) on December 1, 2023 and December 1, 2024.
      (4)   In addition to the foregoing rates, there shall be charged to the village the sum of $1,500 per quarter for water service supplied to the municipality.
   (C)   Outside the corporate limits. Each user of the water service system of the village located outside the corporate limits shall pay as follows: For all usage: $8 per 1,000 gallons. This rate shall further increase by 5.5% per annum (compound) on December 1, 2023 and December 1, 2024.
   (D)   Automatic adjustment. Since the village purchases its water from the Lake County Water District, and since that District adjusts the price it charges to the village from time to time, after the effective date of Ord. 2013-O-17, the base rate set forth in the foregoing divisions (B) and (C) shall be adjusted administratively each time that District adjusts the price it charges to the village. All such adjustments shall be proportional to the increase or decrease announced by that District. The Finance Director shall provide timely notices to the Village Board of all such adjustments and the Clerk shall maintain a list of current rates that are readily available during regular business hours to citizens.
