§ 31.132 DUTIES.
   The Collector shall be the designated agent of the village for the receipt of money, lands, chattels or choses in action. Upon receipt of cash, checks or other negotiable instruments, the Collector shall turn over all such money or instruments received on behalf of the village to the Village Treasurer promptly upon receipt of same. Upon receipt of any other things of value, the Collector shall promptly inform the Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the same, and to the extent possible, given the nature of the items or title to the lands to the Mayor and the Board of Trustees at that time. It shall further be the duty of the Collector to give a statement to the Treasurer as to the source and value of all such receipts, whether in cash or in kind. At the time of receipt of any funds, lands, chattels or choses in action, and from whatever source they may come, the Collector shall promptly issue a receipt to the provider of the funds, lands, chattels or choses in action.
