(A) The Superintendent of Public Works shall have the care and custody of the village water supply system, and all equipment, pipes, and machinery pertaining thereto. He shall also have the care of public streets, alleys, sidewalks, and other public ways in the village and shall have supervision over all work thereon. ('79 Code, § 406(1))
(B) The Superintendent of Public Works shall be charged with and see to the enforcement of all ordinances and provisions of the village relating to the water supply system and the sewer system, where no provision to the contrary is made. He shall also be charged with the enforcement of all ordinances pertaining to such public property and places (except traffic accidents) and is hereby authorized to enforce such ordinances.
