There is hereby created the position of Superintendent of Public Works, who shall be appointed by the President by and with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees, and who shall hold such position during the pleasure of said Village President or for such period as may be agreed to by the Village President. However, no such period shall in any event extend beyond the April 30 immediately following. Neither the Superintendent of Public Works nor any employee of the Department of Public Works shall be an elected officer of the village.
