§ 31.068 AUTHORITY TO ISSUE STOP ORDERS.
   The Building Inspector shall have the power to order all work stopped on the construction, alteration, or repair of any building or structure in the village when such work is being done in violation of any provision of any ordinance relating thereto, or in violation of the zoning ordinance. Work shall not be resumed after the issuance of such an order except on the written permission of the Inspector or by order of the Village President; however, if the stop order is an oral one it shall be followed by a written stop order within eight hours. Such written stop orders may be served by any police officer, and may be served by posting on the premises affected in the absence of personal service.
