There is hereby created the office of Deputy Village Treasurer, who shall be appointed by the President and Board of Trustees as is the Treasurer. The Deputy Treasurer shall give bond in the same manner as the Treasurer under § 31.051. The Deputy Treasurer shall be empowered to issue and sign checks disbursing village funds in the place of, and in the absence from the village of the Village Treasurer.
