§ 31.010 MOTOR VEHICLE LIABILITY INSURANCE.
   (A)   All village officers (other than elected officers, to which this section does not apply), employees, and volunteer members of a village department who use their own motor vehicles in performing duties for the village, shall maintain insurance on their motor vehicles in not less than the following amounts:
      (1)   Bodily injury liability of $50,000 for each person injured and $100,000 for each occurrence; and
      (2)   Property damages liability of $50,000 for each accident.
   (B)   To comply with the provisions of this section, each non-elected officer, employee, and member of a volunteer department must file with the Village Clerk a "certificate of insurance" showing that the coverages required are in full force and effect.
   (C)   The Village Clerk shall maintain a record of the expiration date of each insurance policy for each person designated under this section and shall obtain new "certificates of insurance" on or prior to such expiration showing the extensions, renewal, or replacement of such insurance.
   (D)   Any person (other than on elected officer) who fails to present such evidence of insurance or the extension, renewal, or replacement thereof, shall be suspended without pay from serving the village until such time as the Village Clerk determines that the insurance required by this section has been obtained.
