§ 52.16  CONNECTIONS TO BE MADE WITHIN 60 DAYS AFTER MAINS READY FOR USE.
   Within 60 days after the time when any water main in any street is completed and ready for use, the owner of every abutting lot whereon water is supplied for any human use shall cause the lot to be connected with the water; and within 60 days after the time when any sewer main in any street is completed and ready for use, if a water main has been installed in the street, the owner of any abutting lot having thereon improvements for human occupancy shall cause a water closet and sink to be installed and to be connected with the sewer main, and shall cause all other sewer facilities within the improvements, if any, to be connected with the sewer main; provided, however, that the owner of the premises shall be notified in writing by the town of the installation of the water main or the installation of the sanitary sewer, and shall be allowed 60 days after the written notice within which to make the required connection or connections, provided also that connections to the sewer main shall not be required as long as an existing septic tank system is operating properly.
