§ 94.17  FIRE INSPECTION PERMITS.
   (A)   A general inspection use permit must be obtained from the Fire Department after periodic inspections of all buildings as required in the current edition of the North Carolina Fire Code, as amended. A general fire inspection permit must be obtained for occupancy or use of any building.
   (B)   Buildings must be re-inspected and a new general Fire Inspection Permit obtained according to the schedule established in the current edition of the North Carolina Fire Code, as amended by the town.
   (C)   An operational permit must be obtained from the Fire Department for all operations requiring a mandatory operational permit as defined in the current edition of the North Carolina Fire Code, as amended. An Open Burning Permit must be obtained from the Fire-Rescue-EMS Department for the kindling or maintaining an open fire as required by this code.
   (D)   In all incidents where financial responsibility is required, no permit of any type shall be issued by the Fire Department for any activity until proof of financial responsibility has been provided to the Fire-Rescue-EMS Department.
      (1)   No proof of financial responsibility shall be required unless the same is required under the provisions of the current edition of the North Carolina Fire Code, as amended.
      (2)   In the event that any instrument evidencing financial responsibility is revoked, terminated, rescinded or otherwise restricted by the issuing authority, any permit issued on the basis of such evidence of financial responsibility shall be terminated effective of the date and time of such revocation, termination, rescission or restriction.
      (3)   No permit as required herein shall be issued until the appropriate fee shall be paid to the town for the same.
      (4)   All fees shall be in the amounts established in the town fee schedule, as the same may be amended from time to time.
      (5)   In the event that any permit shall be issued without payment of any required fee, or in the event that any payment made for any permit shall fail to be honored by any financial institution upon which such payment was drawn, such permit shall be void.
