For purposes of this chapter, certain terms are defined as follows.
(A) Words used in the present tense include the future, words in the singular number include the plural number, and words in the plural number include the singular number; the word “shall” is mandatory and not directory.
(B) “May” is permissive.
(C) “Person” includes an individual, all partnerships, associations and bodies political and corporate.
(D) “Lot” includes the word “plot” or “parcel” or “tract”.
(E) “Used” or “occupied” as applied to any land or building shall be construed to include the words “intended”, “arranged” or “designed to be used or occupied”.
