It shall be unlawful for any person to refuse to obey the Chief of Police or any police officer when such officer shall require his or her aid for arresting any person accused of a crime or suspected of a crime, or in the suppression of any riot or unlawful assembly, or in the preventing the commission of any offense against the city or the state.
