§ 51.06 PRIVATE FIRE HYDRANTS.
   (A)   From the effective date of this chapter, no field hydrant may be installed and connected into the city water system except where such field hydrant is installed so that all water going through it will pass through a city approved meter.
   (B)   Any field hydrant installed in violation of this chapter shall be charged a $15 per day fee until it is brought in compliance with this chapter.
   (C)   All existing field hydrants when this amendment goes into effect must comply with one of the following requirements:
      (1)   It shall be charged at a every other month rate of $14.10 every other month for residential users, $14.10 every other month for business users;
      (2)   It may be re-plumbed to meet requirements of this chapter and all water will be billed at the standard rate for metered water; or
      (3)   It shall be exempt from any fee if it is used for fire protection and provided it is sealed by city personnel. City personnel shall check the seals during the quarterly meter readings, and any customer with a broken seal will be charged the minimum fee for the current quarter pursuant to subsection (C)(1) above.
