It shall be unlawful to:
(A) Operate a snowmobile on any county, state or federal highway, except to cross at a 90 degree angle on such roadway;
(B) Operate a snowmobile on any of the above and including city streets under the age of 16, unless they have a valid Snowmobile Safety Certificate issued by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in their possession;
(C) Operate a snowmobile in a careless, reckless or negligent manner so as to endanger the person or property of others;
(D) Operate a snowmobile upon the premises of Parker Oaks, Garden Court Apartments, Adolescent Treatment Center of Winnebago or any of the cities parks;
(E) Operate a snowmobile within the city between the hours of 12:01 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., except to pass through the city or for city residents to drive to their homes in the shortest possible route, provided they use one of the following routes: Seventh Avenue N.W. (entire street); from the corner of First Street N.W. and Seventh Avenue N.W. to Third Avenue N.W.; from the corner of First Street N.W. and Third Avenue N.W. to Second Street N.W.; from the corner of Second Street N.W. and Third Avenue N.W. along Second Street N.W. to the alley on west side of Second Street N.W.; Travel through alley between Second Avenue N.W. and Third Avenue N.W. from Second Street N.W. to Sixth Street N.W.; from said alley on the east side of Sixth Street N.W. to Sixth Avenue S.W.; from the corner of Sixth Street S.W. and Sixth Avenue S.W. to First Street S.W.; from the corner of First Street S.W. and Sixth Avenue S.W. to Fifth Avenue S.W.; from the corner of First Street S.W. and Fifth Avenue S.W. to the corner of Fourth Street S.E. and Fifth Avenue S.E.; from the corner of Fourth Street S.E. and Fifth Avenue S.E. to Sixth Avenue S.E.; from the corner of Fourth Street S.E. and Sixth Avenue S.E. to corporate limits on the east of city. Also, snowmobiles may travel on the alley between Main Street South and First Street S.W. from First Avenue S.W. to Fifth Avenue S.W. This allows snowmobiles to come up into town (see map attached to Ord. 148, on file in the office of the City Administrator- Clerk-Treasurer);
(F) Operate a snowmobile upon any sidewalk, pedestrian pathway, boulevard or private property;
(Note: private property may be driven on with the consent of the property owner.)
(G) A person operating a snowmobile within the city limits shall at all times yield the right-of-way to all other motorized vehicles;
(H) The speed limit for all snowmobiles shall not exceed 15 miles per hour, and any speed in excess thereof shall be unlawful and subject to a citation.
