§ 71.36  THROUGH TRUCKS.
   (A)   Through trucks shall be prohibited on those streets or portions of streets designated from time to time by the Board of Commissioners, upon the erection of signs on such streets or portions thereof.
   (B)   A schedule of such streets or portions thereof shall be set forth in Chapter 74 and be on file in the office of the Town Clerk, which is hereby made a part of this chapter.
   (C)   Any person failing or refusing to comply with the directions indicated on any sign, markers or devices erected pursuant to this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
   (D)   This section shall not be construed to apply when the driver of a vehicle is otherwise directed by a law enforcement officer of the town or when an exception is granted to the driver of an authorized emergency vehicle when the driver of such vehicle while in motion sounds audible signal by bell, siren or exhaust whistle as may be reasonably necessary, and when the vehicle is equipped with at least one lighted lamp displaying a light visible under normal atmospheric conditions from a distance of 500 feet to the front of such vehicle.
   (E)   Such exception is hereby granted to the driver of an authorized emergency vehicle when operated under the circumstances set forth above.
   (F)   A TRUCK is defined as a truck vehicle having three or more axles; also, a TRUCK is defined as a tractor-trailer truck vehicle.
   (G)   Any truck may operate on the prohibited streets designated on the attached schedule if it is performing services for any property or properties adjacent to the designated streets.
   (H)   Trucks owned, operated or performing under the direction of the town shall also be exempt from regulation.
