§ 71.106 POSTED SPEED LIMITS; COMPLIANCE REQUIRED.
   No driver of any vehicle shall exceed the posted speed limit on public streets in the town as established by Schedule VII, as amended from time to time, established by the Town Council, upon those streets or portions thereof described in the schedule. Such speed limits so declared thereon shall be effective at all times when signs are erected giving notice thereof. Nothing herein shall be interpreted so as to modify any speed limit set by the State Highway Commission or the Board of County Commissioners of Lake County, Indiana. Any person who violates this section and chapter shall be subject to the following penalty and fine schedule. The penalty for a violation of this section, for exceeding the posted speed limit by one to nine miles per hour, shall be a fine in the amount of $25 for each violation. The penalty for a violation of this section, for exceeding the posted speed limit by ten or more miles per hour shall be a fine in the amount of $75 for each violation. Fines established hereby are not inclusive of any other jurisdictional costs, expenses, or charges imposed by any Court of competent jurisdiction or agency authorized to impose and collect such additional costs, expenses or charges.
