§ 71.076 STOP SIGNS; STOP REQUIRED.
   (A)   Stop signs. When stop signs are erected upon streets intersecting a through street at the entrance thereto or at the entrance to any intersection designated in Chapter 75, Schedule IV of this code, every driver of a vehicle shall stop at every sign or at a clearly marked stop line before entering the intersection.
   (B)   Four-way stop signs. When stop signs are erected upon all four streets at any intersection as may be so designated, every vehicle shall stop at every stop sign or at a clearly marked stop line before entering the intersection. The first vehicle reaching an intersection shall, after stopping, have the right-of-way to proceed.
   (C)   Penalty. Any person who violates this section and chapter shall be subject to the following penalty and fine schedule:
      (1)   The penalty for an initial violation of this section shall be a fine of $50 for the first violation; thereafter, the penalty shall be a fine of $100 for a second violation; and thereafter, the penalty shall be $250 for a third and each subsequent violation occurring within a 12 month period.
      (2)   Each occurrence shall constitute a separate violation.
